Hi friends,
Did you grow up in a house where you knew you would suffer unspeakably if you used the “fabric” scissors on paper?
Well, I did, and I have instilled that same fear (I mean, knowledge) in my kids. I have shiny silver dressmaking shears, pinking shears and several pairs of those tiny little embroidery snips. All of them designated FABRIC ONLY!
So really, I did not need another pair of scissors. Did I?
Then I started dabbling with junk journaling (which is as deep a rabbit hole as slow stitching). Anyone else here fascinated with the junk journaling thing like I am?
Anyway, I watched a lot of YouTube videos made by some very creative journal artists. They all seem to have something in common: They use Tim Holz scissors.
I had to try them.
Turns out I did need another pair of scissors. They are just amazing. Their titanium blades are micro-serrated. I don’t know why this matters, but they are sharper than sharp, and yes:
YOU CAN USE THEM ON BOTH PAPER AND FABRIC.
Plus the handles are oversized and kind of cushy. The blades grip whatever you’re cutting, which is a quality I never knew I needed.
I may even get a second pair: the ones with the longer blades, which I think will be more suited to cutting fabric.
Have you discovered a new tool you now can’t live without?
That’s it for now….
Happy stitching!
Janice
I got a real laugh from your post. I never met a scissors I didn't like!
