To the max
Shifting gears and a swoon-worthy book
Hi friends, when it comes to stitching, are you a minimalist or a maximalist? If I had to pick two adjectives to describe my slow stitching, I’d probably choose “straight” and “simple.”
But when I look at photos of stitchers I’d admire on Instagram they seem to be more like “lush” and “layered.”
Here’s one. Over on the ’Gram, Lindzeanne’s work is a scroll-stopper for me. Just look at all that texture and movement.

And then there’s Elizabeth Sullivan on Instagram. Where does she even start with all that lusciousness?

Now I know that when you compare, you despair and I’m not signing up for that. But… I do love the look of these two artists’ work, and I am interested in getting this rich, layered vibe, too.
I came across a book this week that just might help. Scroll on for the details…
Adding to my cart…
Talk about flower power… This new book from Fleur Woods has just been released in the States and is showing up with a magical bouquet of floral inspiration. After watching a few flip-throughs of The Untamed Thread online, I can’t wait to see it in person. I think part of Fleur’s ravishing results comes from using wool thread, which is on my “must try” list.
Your two adjectives?
So how would you describe your stitching? Charming? Vibrant? Restrained? Untamed?
And finally…
I’m getting super excited to attend the H+H Americas show in Chicago in a few weeks. It’s a trade show that highlights everything new in the craft industry. I even received a sneak peek box of goodies in the mail and will share the contents with you soon. Are any of you going? Would love to meet you!
Until next week… Happy stitching!

It's so much fun to try out different ideas. The beginnings of your latest stitching is looking great! :)
